Volunteerism and community involvement are an integral part of Daria Ibn-Tamas’ life. She is a motivational speaker and supports efforts aiming to spread awareness about domestic violence and human trafficking. She has served as a board member for numerous organizations and community outreach programs. She is also deeply devoted to issues related to health-care in low-income neighborhoods, specifically those related to HIV/AIDS, homelessness and foster youth. Daria is a dedicated member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, a sustainer member of Junior League of Los Angeles and a member of the Los Angeles (CA) chapter of The Links, Incorporated.
Daria serves as a valuable resource and contributor to media outlets during natural disasters. Her expertise in the areas of crisis management provides her the skills to aid victims in an emergency and assist them by creating a plan of action to overcome their turmoil. Daria has performed volunteer work around the world for various relief efforts like those sponsored by Airline Ambassadors where she coordinated transportation logistics for medical teams to reach earthquake victims and assisted evacuees that applied for humanitarian parole.
Daria Ibn-Tamas is an intellectual property and product liability attorney. She provides pro bono services in the areas of immigration, consumer protection and non-profit law. Ms. Ibn-Tamas earned a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies and Political Science from Columbia University, a Master of Commercial Aviation from Delta State University and a Juris Doctorate from University of Southern California Gould School of Law.
Additionally, Daria serves as a disaster relief consultant to a FEMA contractor and is among the first response team that provides home inspection services to federally declared disaster areas. Since 2004, she has been deployed to over fifteen disasters in Florida, New York, New Jersey, Texas, Louisiana, California and Tennessee. She works areas impacted by floods, hurricanes, mudslides and fires all over the United States. Daria prides herself on her ability to provide real property and social service assessments in crucial times. She guides applicants through the relief process, giving them both comfort and a multitude of options during their difficult time.
Prior to her work in disaster relief consulting, Daria Ibn-Tamas maintained a career in the Corporate Legal department of a major motion picture studio and theme park. In this role, she was responsible for negotiating settlements and transactions for employee compensation benefits. Additionally, she has also worked for two major international airlines in varying capacities.
Daria Ibn-Tamas owns and operates the business Diva Enterprises LLC, which is a national promotion and marketing group with an expertise in boutique event planning. Additionally, she demonstrated her entrepreneurial spirit when she created two product lines “Heritage Baby” and “Sorority Dolls” featuring apparel, books and novelty items for children of color. This business endeavor began as a hobby in 1999 and by way of e-commerce, it has developed into a profitable family business.
